I warned you last fall The Major Glitch was gonna happen... and now it has finally launched in its ever-growing glory! Chris has blogged a bit about the project launch:
"in 1996, i wrote a 69 minute song with over 500 verses called "The Devil Glitch". engineered by the formidable Scott Anthony, the Guinness Book of World Records declared it to be the "World's Longest Pop Song".
...but 69 minutes ain't long enough. thanks to the web, it is now possible to stretch the song to ridiculous lengths...which is where you come in. this is an open call for anyone to create a 2-3 minute chunk which will be edited into the original version until its running time is...well, who knows?"
I'm excited to continue developing the website into new interactive ways for users to organize a listen to play lists of sections of the song based on artist, genre, topic, etc. But that's down the road, what you have now is a giant version, a play list of new submissions, the original version and most importantly, submission guidelines for getting your piece edited in!
